Hopkinton Town Hall Renovation

18 Main Street
Hopkinton, Massachusetts

Completed 2014

TBA executed a multiphase renovation and restoration of the Historic Town Hall for the Town of Hopkinton. Renovations at the site included window replacement, masonry and roof renovations to this distinctive building. Further renovation included full design, engineering services, and grant support services for masonry envelope renovation as well as slate roof replacement along with flashing, gutters, soffits and penetrations; brick, stone, and concrete masonry, windows, and hazardous materials remediation and drainage renovations for the Town Hall Basement.

Roof Replacement work at the Town Hall consisted of the installation of a new slate roof with copper flashing for the Main Building and the design of a reinforcing system to correct structural deficiencies observed in the roof wood frame system. This important historic restoration and preservation project exemplifies TBA's capacity to deliver design solutions to address building envelope deficiencies and building system failures that enhance functionality and ease of use without detracting from the historic character of the structure.

This two-phase project provided the preservation of an important historic landmark while transforming the building into a source of local pride.
