Pierce School Alterations

Brookline Municipal House Doctor

333 Washington Street
Brookline, Massachusetts

Completed 2012

The original four room Pierce School was built in the mid 19th Century and remains the oldest school building in use in the Town of Brookline. After a long history of alterations and additions to match the changing nature of the town itself, we were excited to offer our expertise in space planning and interior reconfiguration as part of our Municipal House Doctor Contract with the Town of Brookline. Pierce School presented a unique challenge in acoustical requirements as a consideration in reconfiguring the existing space. TBA's expert knowledge of space mining played an integral part in the design. After thorough assessment, we provided a variety of options and moved forward with renovations including the learning center, a music room, a variety of classrooms and facilities, as well as improved lighting from fixtures to skylights.
